Description
Asacol (mesalamine), is a member of the class of drugs referred to as 5-Aminosalicylic anti-inflammatories. It is used to treat mild to moderate Crohn’s disease as well as mild to moderate ulcerative colitis. A chemical in the body that results in inflammation, tissue damage, and diarrhoea is affected by Asacol (mesalamine). Asacol is used to treat proctitis, proctosigmoiditis, and ulcerative colitis. It functions by reducing intestinal bloating.
Asacol’s safety and effectiveness in kids under the age of five are unknown.
